Zelan bags RM37.78m job from BBCC

KUALA LUMPUR: Zelan Bhd has bagged a RM37.78 million contract for main building works of a four-storey temporary sales office within the proposed Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC) development in Jalan Hang Tuah/Jalan Pudu here.

BBCC is spearheaded by a consortium of UDA Holdings Bhd, Eco World Development Group Bhd and the Employees Provident Fund.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Zelan said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Zelan Construction Sdn Bhd, had accepted the letter of award from BBCC Development Sdn Bhd for the main building works involving the temporary sales office, as well as a show unit and one-storey sub-basement.

The duration of the works is nine months, with completion on Dec 8. “The works are expected to contribute positively to the earnings of (the) Zelan Group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2016,” said Zelan.

Shares in Zelan closed unchanged at 21 sen yesterday, with a market capitalisation of RM177.43 million.
