Construction, Completion and Maintenance of Wharf Structures Berth 9 & 10
   

PTP – Worlds 19th largest port; PTP is Malaysia’s largest container terminal and is located strategically at the confluence of one of the world’s busiest straits, the Malacca Straits.

On 24th May 2005, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd awarded to Zelan Construction Sdn Bhd a contract for the construction, completion and maintenance of wharf structures for berths number 9 and 10 (Work) at the Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia. The contract includes Marine Base Work – Excavation/Dredging, Piling, Incomat mattress laying & Land Base Work – Precasting, launching and placement and in-site casting.

The berths 9 and 10 are approximately 720 metres long and the construction work took 12 months for berth 9 and 15 months for berth 10 simultaneously.

With their success, Zelan Construction Sdn Bhd was awarded a contract worth RM179.32 million for the construction of berth 13 & 14 wharf structures at Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) in 2012.

PTP is among the most efficient ports in the world and has achieved consistent productivity levels, on par with major established ports worldwide.  Last year, PTP set a world gross berth productivity record of 340 gross berth moves per hour.  These high levels of efficiency and reliability were among the key factors that led the port to be recognised as the “Container Terminal of the Year 2004” at the Asia Logistics Awards
